It started with picking up your Micro-Trash: Clif Bar wrapper corners; trekking pole tips; produce stickers; all the little shit people accidentally leave behind in the woods.
It grew into picking up your Macro Trash: piles of pistachio shells; whole power bar wrappers carried away by the wind; giant orange peels; individual plastic wrappers; all the big shit that definitely shouldn't be in the woods.
Then, I just couldn't take it any more...
HOW IT GOT STARTED
The Roots
For years, I've been packing out all the trash I find in the woods with the optimistic thought that, "if we all pack out more than we pack in, the woods will eventually be trash free!" In 2015, much to the disgust of my boyfriend and hiking partners, I finally decided to fully own my self-appointed role: Wilderness Cleaner-Upper.
I started picking up the most offensive trash plaguing our woods:
YOUR TOILET PAPER.
I founded Did you wipe your a$$ with that? with a mission to teach everyone who'll listen that leaving trash, especially your f*cking toilet paper, in the woods is just awful.
What follows is a public shaming of the TP Leavers, and the trails on which they've left their "mark."
If i can inspire just one person to pack out their TP, this will have all been worth it.
