You know the best thing about LA? That no one seems to realize there're mountains behind the city.
It's TRUE. But dont tell your friends.
You know the second best thing? That if you head up into those mountains (they're closer than Denver is to the mountains!!!) and walk for just a little way, city lights give way to sunset-on-the-mountain views.

Apparently the smog or the hustle (smustle?) has kept these beauties a secret. Which is fabulous.
Especially since my previous encounters with the CA city trails gave me a not-insignificant case of TPPTSD.
So there I am, somewhere on the border of the San Gabriels and it's turning into one of those magic hikes that's delivering all the right kinds of wilderness medicine:
Space
And freedom
Fresh air
And great views.
Untill...

Yeah. Right there.

I was literally thinking to myself, "man, what a nice trail. Maybe this will be the first A+ trail with no TP!!?"

It wasnt.

But it did deliver extreme joy marred by only one (now removed) piece of toilet paper.

PCT, I give you an A for deep breaths of clean air, excellent views, a heart full of love, and only 1 peice of effing toilet paper.
